Hotel Continental Terme

I have been at Hotel Continental in mid-August with my 6 yo son. Overall I have been very satisfied of my stay. The hotel is 10 min away from the city centre, there a free shuttle (Zi zi) which goes there, every 30 min. Around the hotel, there is a number of shops and restaurants. The seaside is also 10 min away by car or bus. The hotel has a number of swimming pools(4?), a very well managed spa, a beauty centre, a snack bar and a restaurant. Breakfast was super generous, but maybe I'd provide more gluten free and lactose free options. We also had lunch at the snack bar and ate very well. Although, being a snack bar, I expected an informal service and lower prices. But it's quite a formal restaurant, with plates being presented with the cloche and very elegant waiters, thus high prices. A big thanks to the spa staff for their kindness and organization. I was overall happy about this hotel, except for three aspects:1) the chairs around the swimming pools were always kept busy with towels since early in the morning;so I asked the staff at the swimming pool how to get a chair and he told me I should do as anyone else, occupying chairs with a towel early in the morning, which for me it's not an acceptable solution;2) when I did the check out, there was a mistake in the price and number of spa treatments. The staff at the reception asked me to go down to the spa and clarify this directly with the SPA as it was outside the hotel. I asked the reception to call the spa and clarify the mistake with them and they refused. I found this attitude unprofessional as they asked a client, me, to resolve a mistake that the hotel made; 3) the room was fine but not very well cleaned. When we checked in, I found hair everywhere in the room, on the floor, in the toilet, not acceptable for a 4 star hotel. Overall a good experience, with some points to improve. I wouldn't suggest this hotel for kids/families,as kids cannot access thermal swimming pools and the hotel is not by the sea.

A beautiful location for a getaway. 3 beautiful outdoor pools filled with thermal water (you have to wear a swimming cap which you can buy on site for €2) and lots of sun beds. A lovely terrace bar serving drinks and snacks. Very friendly staff in the bar & restaurant. The spa is well worth a visit with reasonably priced treatments and excellent facilities to use. Handy local bus routes can take you all over the island. Piano/vocalist on the terrace every night. Would recommend!

I highly recommend this hotel. You will have the complete italian experience! The staff is always ready to help and really kind. The rooms are clean and cozy. The whole hotel area is beautiful with the three swimming pools, many plants and nice architecture. On top of that the food and service was great and we always felt very welcome.

It could have been excellent. Wonderful hotel and faciluties. Not a holiday venue, more a two day spa venue. Food served cold on a number of occasions and had to be returned. Lots of steps everywhere. Not good if you are not fit. Difficult with cases. If English not many speak it. Its an Italian hotel for Italian business people or spa visitors. Not suitable for children. Given 3 stars for architecture, thermal pools and gardens. 5 stars for chambermaid and Jorges Andres our waiter

Beautiful location, with great facilities. The swimming pools and the park is wonderful. The room was very good and I enjoyed very much the environment (small buildings with nice gardens). The service was ok. The maitre and the people at the reception were excellent. Some of the personnel were annoyed but the general impression is positive. The only problems I had were with the music until 1 a.m. (I was there for working reasons and would like to sleep) and with other guests of the hotel (there was a meeting of some women association: some of them were really unpolite).

The room never got below 84F and was frequently hotter! Complaints to front desk that the a/c wasn't functioning properly were taken but not acted on. Ants were in our room and all over our beds on the last night. The beds were way too hard.. I had to make requests for things like pillows that should have been provided with at this quality of a hotel. Other people had rooms that were fine. I left with extremely painful heat rashes. I would stay in the front office area to escape the heat. I was miserable! We literally soaked and wrung out our sheets and tried to sleep under them to get relief from the hot.
